It is imperative you use this website as a resource to aid you throughout this year.
This course is designed to go beyond the normal parameters set for the standard United States History course. The objectives are wide-ranging. In addition to studying the people, events, and trends that have shaped our early history, several challenges will be placed before each student. An emphasis is placed on interpreting documents, mastering a significant body of factual information, and writing critical essays. Efforts are undertaken to improve the quality of study skills, including knowledge of primary and secondary readings (sources), an analysis of some of the events, personalities, and trends that have had an impact on our nation, and an ability to interpret the meanings of these developments.
